Thanks for the promo Jean. I hope Blogging Corner will help others see how blogging can contribute to their own professional development as well as being a satisfying, if addictive, activity.

Hi Jean,

3D video - I want a video camera that does that. Very, very cool. Would be great on a big screen too.

I used to make QTVR but nothing is as engaging as video. Check out this virtual tour of a classroom I did when I taught English in Japan: http://want.jetalumni.org/vrtour.htm

Thanks for sharing

Wow! I love your statement:

My experience in the classroom has convinced me that one of the most important factors influencing worthwhile interactions in the classroom is the free exchange of ideas between all participants. As educators we cannot expect our learners to do it all on our terms, we must be prepared to meet our students on their ground. (bolding is mine).

I totally agree with you, but I'm not sure all educators would - especially those that are new to web 2.0. If you have teachers that have already embraced this frame of mind (and how fabulous that would be!) you may be able to help them by pre-selecting tools that are not blocked by the school's filter and sharing ideas for how to use them in the classroom. One simple step at a time.

This is very interesting and I am sure will be these widgets will become widely used. I also always meant to thank you for testing out my voicethread of 'sentence in a day' as yours worked and you must have just come on, as I stopped moderating the comments. So thanks for that. Will try and find you on classroom20 as well as I have been a member there for a long time and have got so much out of its membership. I also love your header image!

Hi Jean

Thanks for telling us about some lesser known but favourite tools you like and asking your readers to let us know about theirs. I will definitely check them out and let others know about them. Looks like I will be writing a series of posts --- which is good to cover all the different ones.

For all the students, young and old, who have ideas to improve Australia but won't make the summit, the online community created a wiki (a user-generated website) for people to post, discuss, and vote on the best ideas of the day. It's free, independent, and has over 20 different categories of discussion. There's even a page just on young people issues.

Check it out at http://ozideas.wetpaint.com/?t=anon.
